Egyptian Blunders '07!

Okay, confession time. I'm an idiot. While sitting on the roof of the Hotel Odeon with Bones smoking our last shisha and having a beer last night, I accidentally reformatted my memory card and lost all of our Egypt pictures! DOH!

Yeah, I know, I'm pretty upset about it as well. Bones took it a lot better than I did though. Fortunately for us, not all was lost as we made a DVD of our pictures in Aswan. So, we still have all of the pictures up until Aswan. And looking back, we didn't take too many pictures the rest of the way. I've already contacted some of the other members of our tour to see if they can help me out. Hopefully, they'll come through in the clutch.

Egyptian Blunder #2- I seem to have left my jacket on the bus back from Mt. Sinai. Yet another reason why I wasn't all that enamored with Mt. Sinai. This is not good for a guy traveling to the Southern Hemisphere during winter. The weather is going to be chilly enough to where I'm going to need a jacket, which is a welcome change from the Egyptian heat, but not for a man without a jacket. So, looks like I'll be spending time looking for a jacket when I arrive in Johannesburg.

At this point, I'm just trying to make it out of Egypt before committing any more blunders.

Until then......

Love, peace, and soul.

Sorry about the pictures, but you and Bones still have the memories and at least some pictures. Who knows, maybe some of your friends will send a few of their pics as well. It could have been much worse if you had reformatted a couple of months from now, and you do have the DVD. I have to admit tht I would probably have taken it pretty hard myself since I take so many pictures when we take trips.
The best thing about the jacket is that now you will be able to bring home a jacket that will have its own memories.

Here is where your sarong will come in handy. You can wrap yourself up in it and not look out of place in Africa. Remember your sarong has many uses--bath towel, bathing wrap, jacket to keep warm.

Anyway, you will learn to always turn around and look one last time to see what you have let sitting on the bench. Life and its mistakes has a way of teaching us its lessons.

Actually, as parents we appreciate your jacket loss. Having to purchase a new one just might be the reason the sharks do not eat you in South Africa. What a choice--new jacket versus touching the sharks. Nana

My camera's memory card has a "lock" on it, and when locked, it will not let me delete, make changes, or format.
